The Rhythm Hut is very excited to host this special afternoon with Medicine Tribe Australia – featuring Tim, Chitty and Pato of Nahko & Medicine for the People (USA)

Touring non-stop around the world with Nahko and Medicine for the People (USA), Tim Snider (violin/vocals), Justin ‘Chitty’ Chittams (drumkit/vocals) and Patricio ‘Pato’ Zuniga (bass guitar) very rarely find a break in the schedule to tour their own music. Fortunately however for Australian Medicine for the People fans, they have found a small window of opportunity to bring their solo shows here following the full band’s April Blues Fest tour.

Many fans will be surprised when they see what their favourite drummer, violin player and bassist can do as they move from their usual places in the band to take the front of stage.

Tim is renowned for his incredible violin playing, but he also loops guitar, percussion, and vocals into a sound that has been described as a “world-folk hybrid, aimed at the heart the head and the feet”. He recently released a new EP called Humanity Vol.1 and wrapped up tours in the US, Europe and Australia.

Justin (AKA Chitty Bang) not only plays drums in the band but has a voice that will melt you down and songs that will lift up. Their individual styles of R&B, World-folk and Conscience Rock will leave you dancing with a new sense of purpose.

‘Pato’ Zuniga is a multi-instrumentalist from Santiago, Chile. Eclectic and unpredictable, he blends tribal roots, dub reggae, guitar virtuoso, soul and funky vibes that will take you on an unforgettable journey that will make you move. Pato has been touring as the most animated and ingenious bassist for the band “Nahko and Medicine for the People” since March of 2015.

Joining the Medicine For The People tribe – is Australian artist Ren Stone.
Ren Stone is a newly developed solo project by infectious multi instrumentalist and founder of world music group Rhythm Hunters, Rendra Freestone. Ren Stone brings a fresh lyric based sound to folk and conscious roots music.

Ren Stone’s project takes him back to his roots of singer/songwriter folk music, inspired by the movement of conscious roots and his background of traditional Indonesian music – largely the provinces of Aceh and West Sumatra, with thought provoking and emotive lyrics. Influenced by his time spent playing with Rhythm Hunters, Chaika, Nahko & MFTP, Nicky Bomba and on the same festival circuit as the likes of Trevor Hall, Dustin Thomas, Rising Appalachia, Kevin James etc; Ren Stone sets to inspire change with his audience and create music though his personal journeys, philosophies, travels and experiences.

Also known as the long standing force behind world music and percussive heavyweights Rhythm Hunters, Ren Stone’s solo project has already cemented him amongst the heavy weights of the conscious roots musical genre – with fans across Australia, the US and Canada.

This is sure to be a magical night of music, dancing, jams – and a beautiful way for community to come together on ANZAC day – celebrating life, love in a safe and loving environment.

Delicious home style cooked dinners and desserts are available for purchase. The Rhythm Hut is fully licensed with assorted beers, wines and ciders,  and a range of non alcoholic drinks. Under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
