MILKPUNCH

Milkpunch is the project of singer/songwriter Raf Lima. Raf grew up in Brasilia, Brazil, soaking up musical influences from the likes of Wavves, Ariel Pink, Ty Segall and Mac Demarco. After emigrating to Sydney, Australia as a 16-year-old, he began feeding those influences into his own music, that he likes to describe as “fuzz pop music that smells a bit like incense.” He wrote, recorded and produced his debut EP ‘Junk Pop’ solo in his bedroom, and then put together a band using Gumtree ads to help bring his spaced-out, brilliantly catchy fuzz pop to life. The band now consists of Raf, Liam (bass), Jo (drums) and Sam (synths). Milkpunch officially released ‘Junk Pop’ in the winter of 2017, and are now working towards releasing new music in 2018.

Their new video for their debut single ‘Iced Tea’ is out now.

KALUN TOWNSEND

Kalun Townsend is a 19 year old singer songwriter based on the Central Coast. Kalun got his start in music whilst in school where he started performing for school events. Known for constantly frustrating his music teacher with his reluctance to learn to read music, he built his skills up through a mix of lessons and learning by ear through trial and error whilst hiding away in his bedroom. He started experimenting with a range of instruments while playing in a band with his friends where they made it to the finals of a popular Brisbane radio station’s, Nova – Battle of the Bands. Once in high school he continued to expand his skills, experimenting with a variety of writing styles.

After releasing the first single “Winter” on Triple J Unearthed, Kalun received an overwhelming response charting 13th, just three days after release. Allowing him to gain attention from Australian brand ‘Country Road’. Making him the voice of the ‘Country Road Winter 2016′ campaign.
