Special Needs Symphony
Special Needs Symphony will be a new class at the hut in term 1 2012. The class will be run by Imogen Murphy who is a registered Music Therapist. Classes are held Thursdays 4.00-4.30pm.
There are specific objectives of the group which include the development of self confidence where the the strengths of individuals will be nurtured through musical interactions. Kids can walk away from the group feeling empowered in themselves and their abilties.
The groups will be a wonderful place for new friendships to blossom where kids will enhance their social skills and interpersonal communication through improvising, playing and learning music.
Techniques of Music Therapy will be used in the group which are effective for the development of childrens motor skills and learning capabilities as to increase the opportunity for cognitive, physical and sensory stimulation.
Plus it will be a lot of FUN!!!!
